The Circle is Round

The Winter Solstice came and past for another year.  Charleston tricks us into thinking Spring is already here!  Our farm map is a spread of vegetables, flowers, herbs to be ready for a 120 person CSA, the Marion Square Farmers Market and our loyal restaurants- EVO, Mc Cradys, FIG, Anson, Glass Onion, and Monza in the Spring.

Our crop list is full of Heirloom varieties from the Seed Savers Exchange, a non-profit seed-preservation farm out of Iowa.  Tomatoes, sweet corn, squash, peppers, melons, roots, greens, brassicas, onions, potatoes, beans, and an experimental garden with rare varieties!

Rita’s Roots will join Thackeray Farms to bring you naturally grown produce for 2009.  Thackeray Farms has agreed to use no chemical fertilizers or “-cides” on vegetables at the farm.  We strive for nutritionally dense, organic produce coming to you from just a short distance down the road.

Stay tuned for the CSA announcement coming soon!
